Research Centres in the School of Social and Environmental Enquiry
Australian Centre for Science, Innovation and Society (ACSIS)
In a world which is increasingly technically complex, social and technical innovation is central to resolving its key challenges. acsis carries out research and actively engages in the process of innovation to deliver commercial, environmental and social value.
acsis focusses its attention on innovations that arise from the interaction between technological, social and economic change. Initial technologies of interest are biotechnology, small scale technology (including nano scale technology) and information and communication technology. Social and economic drivers being considered include environmental sustainability and ageing populations within cities.
